Seriously, What Does the Fox Say?

You've heard the Ylvis song-in fact, you probably can't get it out of your head. But seriously, what DOES the fox say?

According to PopSci.com, foxes make a sort of barky howly noise. But not like a woof-woof-a-oooooooooo. More like a high-pitched ow-ow-ow-ow-ow!

During different times of the year, the fox's howl sounds a little bit different. Especially when they're getting foxy during mating season.

When foxes "gekker," which is a kind of chatter that involves yelps and howls, it does almost sound like the ack-ack-ack-ack-ack you hear in the "What Does the Fox Say?" video, PopSci.com says.
