I'm not sure if you've heard, but hey- a Nor'easter is coming, a Nor'easter is coming! While we're only expecting a few inches of snow, mixed with a ton of rain, I thought this would be a great time to remind you of a few things you can prepare before the snow starts to fly.
Oh no, you didn't read the title wrong. Before I get into the deets of this story- honestly, how awesome would this be? You leave for work in the morning with a dirty crib only to come home to very clean crib, complete with a bill of $75 waiting for you- Pretty awesome minus the bill for services. Not so much.
Every now and then we all need a dose of 'happy' and frankly, this video will do exactly that. After spending six months in Al-Udeid, Qatar 13 Air National Guard members returned home to a very warm welcome.
Is it me, or does it seem like it was 80 and sunny like yesterday? Crazy how quick seasons change around these parts, no? Get ready, the first snow fall of the season is expected to make it's way into our area this Wednesday.
DST (Daylight Savings Time) especially in fall, is perfect. You go to bed only to wake to, yeah, an extra hour. My thought process is all over the road in regard to DST- like, wow, I got an extra hour of sleep, but in the end, what is the pay off?
Ahhhhh, the joys of Halloween: Send kid out to ask strangers for delicious treats, come home and inspect said 'treats', let the little one have at it till they pass out from too much sugar, and of course- raid that candy bag like you stole it.
If you commute to the city for work, you know more than anyone, Amtrak service has been non-existent since Sandy took out her anger on our brethren to the south. But alas, temporary service from Albany-Rensselaer should be back up tomorrow (Friday)
I noticed, on FB, loads of parents venting/complaining about their kid changing their mind when it comes to Halloween costumes. One friend even went out and bought fake blood and all that jazzy Halloween make-up, you know, cause Little Jimmy gets what Little Jimmy wants ;-)
Halloween is always an interesting night. While it's great that you can dress up all crazy and take the kids out trick or treating, sometimes we tend to let our guard down. Honestly and subconsciously, we want and hope others (strangers) have the best intentions in my mind.
So we've all done this- Yep, gone to a Halloween party and noticed the tackiest costume creation (regardless if it's 'ok' and 'in the name of' All Hallows' Eve) and thought to ourselves- 'what was that human being thinking'?
