Meredith McNeil
Meredith McNeil, 1/2 of the morning show on WQSH, found herself in the radio industry by happenstance. While living in Lake Placid in 2005, she wrote and recorded a commercial for the Lake Placid/Essex County Visitors Bureau that landed her a job at the local radio station due to her natural ability. She worked there as the Production Director for the first 6 months, then continued on as the Program Director for WYGY on which she also moved up from overnights to nights to eventually the midday slot.
Feeling she had soaked up the necessary skills to move on from the micro market in the Adirondacks, she applied for a job at WFRG - the #1 rated station in the Utica market. They say everything happens for a reason. After two years of gleaning every ounce of information and growing and learning in the industry, the previous midday DJ on WBZZ decided to move back to Utica, and they swapped spots! Having lived in Albany for many years before finding her calling up in the mountains, she was excited to move back to her home near friends and family.
Meredith loves to multitask on air; whether it’s driving a John Deere tractor, getting lost in a corn maze, or even flooding a Nascar engine. She’s an avid runner who loves to join any event for a cause whether it’s a race, walk or polar plunging into Lake George. These days, after hours is spent cleaning up after her rapidly-growing daughter, Emerson…and loving every minute of it. Her new role as mommy is, by far, the most rewarding “job” to date.
